Watson is a scenic little town in McCurtain County, Oklahoma - just 6 miles east of Smithville, 26 miles southeast of Honobia, the home of the Annual Bigfoot Festival, and 44 miles north of Broken Bow. Watson  is located in the eastern part of Kiamichi Country - one of the most beautiful parts of Southeastern Oklahoma.

Watson is only about 5 miles from the Oklahoma/Arkansas border and Mena, AR is 24 miles to the northeast. This area has the Ouachita National Forest, McCurtain County Wilderness Area, and  Hee Mountain which is 1342 feet.

 

Broken Bow Lake just south of Watson, is one of the biggest year-round draws for sport fishing enthusiasts. Bass fishing is popular on the Broken Bow Lake as well as largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sand bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and various species of sunfish.  Trout fishing  still rules on the Mountain Fork River below the dam and also in the state park.

Whether you want to go fishing in the lakes and rivers, hunt for that special game, four-wheelers, hiking, horseback riding, camping, or searching for Bigfoot, there is something in Watson for the whole family.
